Chicory (Cichorium intybus)

A perennial herb with a deep taproot; active growth September to April/May; very high yields particularly if irrigated; excellent companion species for white clover, cocksfoot and fescue; graze rotationally; rapid regrowth after grazing; requires well drained soil types of pH 5.5 to 6.0; high dry matter protein and mineral contents; gives very high sheep and cattle growth rates; sow in August/September into a weed free seedbed at 5kg seed/ha.
